Things to do in El Paso this weekend: Christmas fun edition

Christmas is in full swing and that means a sleigh full of events through El Paso.

From light shows to free Christmas movies, here are fun and festive activities to do from Friday December 17 through Sunday December 19 that are sure to get you in the Christmas spirit.

Brighten up your night with holiday lights

Lights on the lake – El Paso County lights up Ascarate Park all along the lake. You can either stay in your car and cross, or park and pose for photos among the exhibits. Entrance to the park is free on Friday and $ 2 on Saturday and Sunday.

City lights of the sun – The New El Paso Vacation Experience: A family drive-thru with tens of thousands of vacation-inspired lights and displays seen from the comfort of your car. From Friday December 17 to Sunday December 19. [More Info]

Rae of Light Christmas Light Show – If you miss the Fred Loya Christmas light show, this owner wants you to drop by his place in east El Paso. The impressive synchronized light show takes residential house projections to a higher festive level. Free to see. [More Info]

Vacation Movies at the Plaza – The weather outside might not be that scary, but watching a free movie in the historic Plaza Theater is certainly delicious. “It’s a Wonderful Life” at 3pm, “Love Actually” at 7pm on Saturday December 18th. [More Info]
