Toy Book: What is it about Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir which makes it appealing to children, teenagers and adults?

VG: What can fans of the series expect in the coming year?
GMW: This year will be exciting for Miraculous. The animated action musical feature will be released. There are several important initiatives in the pipeline to support the launch that have yet to be announced, but I can share that there will be a global promotional program with a major fast food company, and there will be co-partnerships. branded with some of the world’s most influential companies across many consumer product categories. The film is a great opportunity to further engage family audiences with the Miraculous brand.

VG: Why is it important that the characters of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir are so relevant for teenagers?
GMW: The characters have fears and feelings inspired by the challenges teens face, including family, friendships, and love. Their powers not only help them fight supervillains, but also – and most importantly – grow.
Teenagers are often fired because of their young age, but in Miraculous, they have the power to express themselves and the space to develop. For example, Marinette is a normal teenager with a normal life, and fans can experience her journey as she overcomes her fears to discover and transform into her alter ego Ladybug, a relatable heroine who sets up a positive and strong persona. with the ability to transform the world in which she lives. She represents the clumsy teen-turned-superhero in all of us.
Adrien, who has been protected by his father all his life, grows braver as Cat Noir.
VG: How do Playmates and ZAG Lab incorporate the CGI look of animation into their toys?
GMW: This property allows Playmates Toys to shine in areas where we already have a long history: dolls and action figures. Working with ZAG Lab, we are able to adapt ZAG’s stunning CGI animation across the entire range. We are working closely with the series director, Jeremy Zag, to start with the real animation files and adapt them to the toys. Translating the beauty of CGI was our top priority.
VG: How have Miraculous toys changed as the series itself has evolved over the years?
GMW: The most important thing for toymakers is being able to understand what fans love most about content and characters, and being able to translate that into toys. Understanding that the series is not about a single character was essential. It’s about knowing that all the friends and Heroez alongside Ladybug is what creates the mighty miraculous universe.
VG: Which products are the most popular with fans? What products are you most excited about this year?
GMW: The Miraculous Heroez Fashion dolls are a big hit, which includes all the main characters: Ladybug, Cat Noir, Rena Rouge, Queen Bee and their magical Kwami. As new Season 4 episodes continue to air, we’re getting to know some new characters. We’re excited to continue expanding the Heroez line of dolls with these new characters, including Vesperia and Bunnyx, as well as Ladydragon from the Miraculous World: Shanghai, the legend of Ladydragon special, which is now streaming on Disney+.
Magic and transformation are important to the storyline and we will continue to incorporate this magic in innovative ways, just like in the series. The flip fashion segment with reversible sequins that transform outfits with the flick of a finger will be everywhere this year, and we’re also very excited to extend the line to vehicle play with the Ladybug Lucky Charm Transforming Scooter. Kids can press the dot on Ladybug’s yo-yo to magically transform it into a scooter.
