Chucky episode 7 recap
The seventh episode (titled “Twice the Grieving, Double the Loss”) opens with Bree’s funeral attended by Lexy, her family and Devon. Tiffany arrives to pay homage to him and kisses Logan, infuriating Junior. Devon walks away from Jake and suggests they look for Chucky separately. Junior hits Jake and creates a scene in the wake. Later, Jake visits Devon, who packs his bags and moves to live with his aunt. Devon expresses that he wants to be alone.
Logan begins to drink heavily after Bree’s death. Meanwhile, Junior meets Tiffany, who hints that his father cheated on his mother with her. Junior finds Chucky and starts talking to him. In a flashback to 1988, we see Chucky and Tiffany’s relationship wane after Chucky starts killing people on his own. In the present, Chucky coerces Junior to kill his father and Jake. Jake contemplates recent events in his life and decides to leave town. He packs up things and takes money from Logan’s wallet. Elsewhere, Andy Barclay and Kyle stop at a gas station. However, Andy leaves Kyle behind and heads for Hackensack.
On the way to the station, Jake sees a delivery man with a Good Guy doll. Jake buys the doll and learns its delivery address. Devon goes to Charles Lee Ray’s childhood home and finds Nica hostage there. Jake meets Lexy and the two deduce that the doll is delivered to Charles’ home. The duo realize that Devon is at home. However, before they can get out of the house, the doll comes to life. Andy arrives at the Wheeler Residence a little too late.
End of episode 7 of Chucky: is Logan dead? Who killed him ?
As the episode draws to a close, a shocking transformation awaits fans. Chucky begins to manipulate Junior’s volatile feelings. The serial killer doll takes advantage of Junior’s newfound resentment towards his father and urges him to kill Logan. After an argument with Logan in which he insults Bree, Junior finally slams and hits Logan in the face with the doll. Junior continues to hit Logan’s face with the doll until Logan dies.
Ultimately, Junior kills Logan and feels no remorse for it. So, Chucky finally manages to turn one of the teenagers into a killer like him. How this fits into Chucky’s larger plan remains to be seen, but he’s already put the pieces in place. Logan’s death is particularly tragic as he becomes much like his twin brother, Lucas, towards the end. Chucky is also involved in their two murders, so perhaps we can see some puzzling poetry in their deaths. Unlike Jake, Junior actually goes through the murder, pointing to his state of decline after his break-up with Lexy and the death of his mother.
Is Devon dead? Are Lexy and Jake alive?
In the final moments of the episode, Devon releases Nica from confinement. However, at this point, Charles’ spirit takes hold of Nica’s body and introduces himself. He takes a Taser from Devon’s bag and prepares to attack the teenager. The episode ends without revealing Devon’s fate. On the other hand, Lexy and Jake are also targeted by another Chucky doll. In Charles’ childhood home, the killer has assembled many dolls, and they all come to life. Therefore, it is safe to say that Lexy, Jake, and Devon are in imminent danger.
It’s hard to say if they will survive, but since Jake and Lexy only face one doll, they might come out alive. On the other hand, the odds are against Devon, who is trapped in the house with Chucky and the dolls. So, the episode ends on a major cliffhanger by keeping the fate of its three main characters a mystery. It seems unlikely that outside help will arrive to save the teens, and they will have to rely on their own wits to survive.
