Ric Flair and Larry Zbyszko were two of the biggest names in the pro wrestling industry in the 1980s, but they were in separate organizations. Zbyszko was in AWA and Flair was in NWA, so one of the only ways for them to fight would have been through an invasion angle.

In an interview with This is my wrestling podcast, Larry Zbyszko explained how an invasion angle between AWA and NWA would have caused him to struggle Ric flair.

“Well, here’s the story because it was meant to happen. In 1985 I was in the AWA and Flair in the NWA, you know, and TBS with the Crocketts. And Vince was way ahead of those two organizations and territories. They were trying to hang on but it was over with nationwide pay per view and cable. So my first figure came out, I think 84/85, and if you look at it it’s the NWA collection, and all of the AWA collections had AWA wrestlers in it but mine had a doll of me and a doll of Flair.

“Flair was not in the AWA, he was in the NWA. They were setting up an invasion scenario where the NWA was going to fight the AWA guys, and I was supposed to have matches with Flair. I even did a few interviews one day in Minneapolis for ESPN, you know, calling Flair and challenging him because I’m the living legend. I retired from Bruno, I retired from Karwowski, and then Flair was going to come back and denounce me on TBS saying he was the Nature Boy, he’s the biggest. You know, the gimmick man. So one show, someone would invade the other group on one of their shows. But at the last minute, the Crockett’s and the Gagnes, it fell apart.

Larry Zbyszko showed great interest in participating in a match with Ric Flair, but unfortunately that didn’t happen. Zbyszko opened up about the nWo and how he thought he and Flair could have been as hot as the faction.

“What’s interesting is that it was exactly the same idea when Eric Bischoff and Greg Gagné were at the WCW office. This invasion idea, the same one we were supposed to do with me and the flair started. what became the nWo where Hall and Nash invaded WCW and made the WWE guys look like they were invading WCW. That’s where the idea came from. That’s why Flair and I were in the same pack but we never fought. This is the situation that became the nWo that became the hottest thing ever. It was supposed to happen with Flair and me 10 years ago.

Over a hundred Schenectady children have had their vacation wishes granted thanks to the New York State Police Forensic Lab.

A social media post from the NYSP reads:

“It’s donation season!

NYSP’s Forensic Lab System, with help from family and friends, filled 115 children’s holiday wish tags through Things of My Very Own, in Schenectady. The staff collected basic items like clothes, bedding and hygiene items, and fulfilled holiday wishes for toys, games and even a few bicycles. “

Comments from the audience ranged from “(There is) a Santa Claus. Magic ”to“ Major hat tip !!! “

New York State Police Facebook page

115 children’s holiday wishes were granted with the gifts thanks to a program run by the nonprofit Things to me. The group was founded in 2008 by Rayn Boncie and currently serves eleven counties in the New York Capital region.

Logo: Things that belong to me thingsofmyveryown.org

Boncie, who is also the group’s vice president, has won numerous awards for her work, including the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award, which she received from President Barack Obama in 2010.

The self-described survivor founded the group to help children who are “affected by a lot of abuse and / or neglect” and those at risk for child protection intervention to keep them safe. children with non-violent family members and out of the foster care system when possible.

Kids of all ages are helped with Things of Their Own, and some of the holiday wish tags are really heartbreaking requests. In a 2018 post posted on the group’s website a 16 year old boy explains that his father is gone and that he needs to help his mother. His wishes included sneakers and clothes so he could find a job.

When children come out of an abusive situation or are pushed into a very vulnerable situation, the movement is often sudden and without warning. Without time to pack, many children are forced to leave behind many of their sentimental possessions and other items, creating a loss of comfort in an already uncomfortable and frightening situation.

With the help of donations from others, like the New York State Police forensic lab system and their connections, a small but significant part of this discomfort is alleviated.

WITHOUT DATE – The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is lifting the ban on importing and moving farmed deer into Minnesota.

The temporary state of emergency was put in place on Oct. 11 after it was discovered that a Wisconsin farm that tested positive for chronic wasting disease had shipped 387 white-tailed deer to farms in seven states, including Minnesota.

The ban was intended to prevent the spread of CWD and protect Minnesota’s deer population while the MNR and other agencies investigated the situation.

The DNR said it would lift the temporary ban on Monday, December 6 after learning more information would not be available due to lost records, lack of testing in other states and other variables on the how states monitor their deer populations.

The DNR says that as a result, it cannot fully determine the risk these deer pose to wild and farmed deer populations in Minnesota, but will continue to use all available tools to prevent the spread of CWD.

With Christmas less than four weeks away, Kristyn Begari has been rushing to find enough doll styling heads to give to children in need.

But, California-based Family Giving Tree’s purchasing coordinator said it was hard to find them, along with Barbies or Disney princess dolls of various races. Other charities that give to children over the holidays say they also face challenges in finding enough game consoles, laptops and other electronic items amid a global shortage of chips used in cars, phones and other devices.

“I’ve never seen anything like it,” Begari said. “Our biggest fear is that we’re not going to get the quality of gifts we want, or we’re not going to get enough in general.”

Trying to grant thousands of vacation wish requests has always been a challenge for Begari. But it has been downright miserable this year, as bottlenecks in the global supply chain create shortages on many items, making it difficult to grant many holiday wishes for the 34,000 children and adults in the city. The organization expects to help in the Bay Area this holiday season.

Some wholesalers have already informed her that purchases will not arrive, giving her the option of getting a refund or purchasing another item. If a child doesn’t get their favorite gift, she said the organization will try to grant their “second wish” or find another replacement item.

Billboards are most popular when they include a well-known brand name or a recognizable mascot. Sometimes a sign does not have a name or brand attached, but there is no doubt what it is for.

This three-dimensional carved and painted wooden pig’s head with glass eyes was made for a butcher shop. It sold at Cowan’s auction in Cincinnati for $ 3,125. The buyer may be a collector of advertising and store furniture, may have an interest in the meat industry, or may have recognized the value of pork as an interesting folk art work. The head is detailed, with wrinkles where the muzzle rises, teeth and a tongue visible in the open mouth. It took a great deal of skill for the unknown artist to sculpt and paint such a realistic drawing.

Question: I was recently given 63 books from the Little Leather Library Corporation in New York. The collection includes a variety of classics, such as Shakespeare’s plays, “Arabian Nights”, “The Christmas Story”, and more. The books are in fairly good condition considering their age, but are quite yellowed. I am curious about them and interested in their value.

A: The brothers Charles and Albert Boni had the idea for miniature books around 1914. They founded The Little Leather Library Corporation with Max Sackheim and Harry Scherman, two advertisers. A miniature book of one of Shakespeare’s plays was first sealed with chocolate in Whitman Library Package boxes in 1916. Woolworth has sold over one million copies of Little Leather Library books for 10 cents each in 1917. The books were also sold in other departments. stores, pharmacies and by post.

Books were made with synthetic covers during World War I, when leather was difficult to obtain. The Little Leather Library eventually included over 100 classic titles in the public domain. By 1920, over 25 million books had been sold. Robert K. Haas, Inc. took over the company in 1924 and publication of new titles ceased. Books are sold in sets or individually for around $ 2 each, depending on title and condition.

Question: What is the value of a healthy aluminum Christmas tree? It is 5 feet tall.

A: Save your aluminum tree. It is worth over $ 400. Aluminum Christmas trees were popular in the 1960s. The wire branches, wrapped in narrow strips of aluminum to represent “needles,” came in individual paper sleeves to protect them when stored. If the branches are not inserted into the handles first when disassembling the tree, the “needles” twist and crease. Since the lights cannot be hung from the tree, aluminum trees were usually lit by a spinning color wheel at the base.

The Aluminum Specialty Co. of Manitowoc, Wisconsin made the first aluminum shafts in 1959. Several other manufacturers made them in the 1960s and millions were made. The first trees had foldable tripod bases. The trees were made of silver, gold, and several other colors, but silver was the most popular. Reproductions and new aluminum shafts were made.

The value of a vintage aluminum tree depends on the size (height and number of branches), desirability and condition. Some people like “Pom Pom” trees that have branches with splayed ends resembling pompoms, while others prefer trees with more realistic branches. A 6 foot Sparkler pom-pom tree with 91 pom-tipped branches, original box and handles recently sold for $ 461. A 6 foot tree with 49 “realistic” branches and a color wheel sold for $ 202. And a 7-foot tree with 154 lifelike branches and a plastic stand sold for $ 461.

Question: How much is a John Wayne “Symbol of the West” doll worth in the original box? It is the second in Effanbee’s Legend series and was released in 1981.

A: The Effanbee Doll company was founded by Bernard Fleischaker and Hugo Baum in 1910. The company name is an acronym formed from the initials of the founders’ family names. Effanbee introduced the Legend series, limited dolls depicting historical figures or famous figures from film and television, in 1980. A new doll was released each year. Two John Wayne dolls were included in the series, your “Symbol of the West” doll in 1981 and John Wayne “Guardian of the West” in 1982. Effanbee went bankrupt in 2002 and was purchased by Tonner Dolls. It closed in 2018. John Wayne dolls like yours sell for up to $ 50 if they are in mint condition in the original box.

Question: How much is a Villeroy & Boch tumbler worth? There is an image of a maid holding a pitcher in one hand and a plate with what looks like a partridge on it in the other hand. The word “Wohlbekomm’s” is printed on it. It bears the Villeroy & Boch brand and “1025, Geschutz” and an incised “2327”.

A: The Villeroy & Boch Pottery in Mettlach was founded in 1836 when two pottery pieces belonging to François Boch and Nicolas Villeroy were merged. Pottery is known for its famous Mettlach tankards. The number “2327” is the form number and “1025” is the design number. The German word “Wohlbekomm’s” translates to “Although it is. “Geschutzt” means “protected” (similar to “registered”). Villeroy & Boch tumblers sell at stein auctions and online for around $ 80 to $ 120.

TRICK: If the name “England” (or that of another country) appears on a dish, it was probably made after 1891, but it is possible that it was made as early as 1887. The words “Made in England” (or from another country) indicate the coin was made after 1914.

An iconic restaurant in Chenango County is in ashes following a spectacular four-alarm fire in early November 28.

Chenango County Emergency Service officials said the first call about a fire at the Silo restaurant at 203 Moran Road in Greene in the city of Coventry arrived shortly before 12:30 a.m., with the second, third and fourth alarms having been triggered within the hour.

Firefighters from several Broome County businesses joined Coventry and other Chenango County units at the scene.

Chenango County dispatchers said the last units of firefighters finally left the scene around 8:30 a.m.

There were no reports of injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The restaurant, which has been the scene of hundreds of weddings, birthdays and many other celebrations for decades, went up for sale a year ago.

Originally known as ‘Restaurant Ye OIde Silo’, the cedar shingle clad structure was built in 1967. It had already been heavily damaged by a fire in May 1985, but was rebuilt and reopened.

The Chenango County Fire Alert page lists these companies as having responded to the scene:

Coventry, Bainbridge, Oxford, Smithville, Greene, Brisben, Guilford, Harpursville. Afton, Port Crane, Sanitaria Springs, Triangle, Masonville, Sidney and Chenango Forks as well as Greene Emergency Medical Services, Chenango County Fire Coordinators and Chenango County Fire Investigators.

The first thing you notice about “Twister” – the big bad bad guy Donnie Yen fighting at the height of the 2010s Ip man 2 – is it huge. Imposing. Made of muscles. Even his wickedness is disproportionate. Oh, and no coincidence: he’s white. Western imperialism becomes flesh.

“I can kill you with two punches,” he growls to Yen.

It’s probably not a spoiler to reveal that the character played by Yen – perhaps best known to American audiences for playing a blind mystic in Thief one – go kick Twister’s ass. However, the yen must first take a beating. Twister, a fighter in the style of Western boxing, indeed treats the smaller Yen like a rag doll throughout the fight: when the punches land, they really Earth. Often like no, however, the punches don’t land. Yen might be small, he might not have Twister muscles, but he’s tough, elusive, and smart.

So of course the ruling British imperialists – the film is set in Hong Kong shortly after WWII – change the rules in the middle of the fight. They Cheat. No kick, Yen said, or you will be disqualified and lose the match. “We cannot let the West put us down,” laments one observer.

How Yen wins anyway: by hitting Twister’s mountainous biceps, then finishing him off with a flurry of punches to the face. Westerners end up being disgusted and angry; the Chinese public carries the yen on their shoulders. The good guys won. The bad guys have lost.

Standard price for an action movie, right? Well, certainly. “Rude nationalism”, as a critic rejected it? Undoubtedly.

Something more is happening, however. In Ip man and many other studio films from the past 20 years, China tells a story about what it has in mind as the country becomes a 21st century superpower. It’s a story about how the country sees itself in relation to the rest of the world. Americans who are increasingly focused on competing with China – and even considering the possibility of a war to defend Taiwan – should probably be careful.

Indeed, if you want to start understanding the challenges of US-China relations and how Beijing wants to position itself in the world, you could do worse than a movie marathon over the holidays. That’s true for many cinemas around the world, including ours – after all, even American movies like the next one. Top Gun: Maverick must secure the Ministry of Defense approval of their intrigues before using military resources, with UNITED STATES! UNITED STATES! results. But China has long been an enigma for Americans, and an easier one to understand for anyone with a Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, or Peacock subscription.

You can start with Jet Li’s hero, a 2002 film that functions as a sort of origin story for China itself. Then you can move on to another Li movie, Intrepid, which depicts the demise of the Qing dynasty at the start of the 20th century and the rise of the Chinese republic. Or you can try Bodyguards and assassins, a star affair that takes place at the same time. And if you’re already a Donnie Yen fan, there’s Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen – a sort of sequel to that of Bruce Lee Fist of fury – located just before the invasion of China by Japan in the 1930s.

Many of these films take place at a time when China was under the control of foreigners, including the British or the Japanese. It is a painful time, a time in the history of the country where he often called himself “the patient from Asia. “In modern films, however, those years have been redefined as the foundations of China’s ultimate triumph over these intruders – and the glorious rise of the Chinese Communist Party. The underlying message: China must confront the outside world with force. or be exploited once more.

“When they tell this story, this story is also promoted by the Chinese government to justify the rise of the Communists and the rule of the Communist Party,” Thomas Chen, professor at Lehigh University and culture expert, told me in 2017. Chinese pop. “Because of the Communist Party, the West has been driven out – and once again China is in charge and in control of its own destiny. This message is also carefully checked: Big studio films in China are not made and released without government approval, although independent filmmakers say they still have a certain room for cautious creativity, and the country has a rich and robust history to challenge the cinema.

Still, lest all of this viewing feel like such a dark duty, it’s worth noting here that these films are truly entertaining, filled with expert action scenes and inventive fight choreography that can rival anything that comes out. from Hollywood. Yes, there is an element of propaganda in these films, but again, this is not an exclusively communist phenomenon either (just watch a film by John Wayne). Specifically, like Western blockbusters, Chinese films are also often amusing.

It’s the Ip man quadrilogy that probably does the best messaging and entertaining job among modern-era Chinese films widely seen in the West. The yen plays the title character – a great martial arts master who in real life was Bruce Lee’s mentor – as a reluctant warrior pressed into action forever. (Ring familiar?) In the first film, the Japanese are the bad guys. In the second: the British. The third? Let’s just say Mike Tyson made an appearance. And in the last installment, Ip Man travels to 1960s California, only to encounter violent anti-Chinese racism. He decides to return home to Hong Kong and teaches his son how to fight.

None of this plays out too much heavy hand, however. “Ip man is popcorn cinema at its best, full of catchy, well-choreographed fights and historical dramas, ” The edge concluded Last year.

While Yen beats all comers in these films, he also occasionally offers an olive branch to the rest of the world. “By fighting this match, I’m not trying to prove that Chinese martial arts are better than western boxing,” he said at the end of Ip man 2. “What I really mean is that even though people have different statuses in life, everyone’s dignity is the same. I hope from that point on we can start to respect each other. “

It remains to be seen whether peace and dignity will eventually prevail in the real world. But if you don’t go and see these movies, they might find you eventually: the Chinese film industry is growing by leaps and bounds. In 2021, the highest grossing movie on Earth is not F9, the latest James Bond movie, or whatever Marvel. It is The Battle of Changjin Lake, made to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party, which tells the story of the Korean War battle known to Americans as the Battle of Chosin Reservoir. Needless to say, Americans aren’t the good guys in this version.

We think “I want a doll” should be a big help this year “to make the season bright”.

– Greg Nathan

SPRINGFIELD, OREGON, USA, November 26, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – Donna Courtell playfully sings “I Want a Doll”, according to Greg Nathan, owner / president of Soaring Music Publications, label of the new Christmas song. Ms. Courtell has been a Great American Songbook champion throughout her singing career. She is the only vocal artist to record “I want a doll.”

Reedman Paul Biondi has his roots in Los Angeles, where he has performed with some of the biggest names in the music industry. Mr. Biondi moved to the Pacific Northwest many years ago. Since then he has been prolific in his live musical appearances.

Songwriter Charles Nathan (1921-2012) wrote: “I want a doll”. This is the second song by Charles Nathan that Soaring Music Publications is producing. The first was a title track from an album released in 2013. This song is taken from a musical written by Charles, “Where the Heck’s the Plot ?.” The title of the song concerned is “I’ll Think of Something”.

The arrangement of “I Want a Doll” allows it to become a video production. The presentation of the song will be as if it were a scene from a musical. The video is “in progress”, and although currently unfinished, the imagery for the video is under development.

The recording of “I Want a Doll” features a seven-piece ensemble (including sleighbells) as accompaniment, where Ms. Courtell is the eighth musician. Paul Biondi doubles on the recording, playing the jazz clarinet and tenor saxophone.

“I Want a Doll” is a bouncy Christmas Swing song with clever lyrics. You can listen to the recording on the following link:

https://iwantadoll.hearnow.com/i-want-a-doll-alternate-version

Soaring owner Greg explained, “We tried to make the recording sound like it’s from the Swing era. Even the cover has a ‘retro’ feel. It’s an old song. which is new because the recently produced Donna is the only one to have been recorded this.

If you like Swing and Jazz-tenor-sax, this recording is a “must to listen”. There are even bells to pass the “little ones”. The track has a lot to offer, possibly one of the best Christmas music products to ever hit the market.

You can play “I Want a Doll” alongside all the great Christmas classics. “I Want a Doll” fits perfectly. I’m glad we did, and I’m happy with the result. We think ‘I Want a Doll’ should be a big help this year ‘to make the season bright.’ “

Greg said it deserves to be listed, but everyone who loves it loved it to share it with their people to make it happen. He said people who share it can earn rewards through Soaring.

Violet Evergarden Season 2 is still expected after such a long time, and we look forward to it every day. The first season of the series was released in 2018, and since then things have really been uncertain about the future of the series. Fans have been asking for a long time, but the creators haven’t given a clue as to what to do next. From our point of view, it would be a tragedy if the show was not repeated. However, the show’s producers may think otherwise.

Violet Evergarden was highly regarded and received generally positive reviews throughout her first season and had a larger following than most anime. He was extremely popular and continued to be loved not only in the local anime community, but all over the world. Now we have speculation about Violet Evergarden Season 2 and you are surely dying to read it. So, without further ado, let’s get to the heart of the matter.

Violet Evergarden is a light novel series based on source material from Kana Akatsuki and illustrated by Akiko Takase. The show was released in 2018, and the show’s first season covered the first two volumes out of the novel’s four total volumes. The show was adapted directly from the novel and directed by Taichi Ishidate, the scenario being carried out by Reiko Yoshida.

The official synopsis for the show reads: “The story revolves around Auto Memory Dolls: people initially employed by a scientist named Dr Orland to help his blind wife Mollie write his novels, then hired by other people who needed their services. At present, the term refers to the writing industry for others. The story follows Violet Evergarden’s journey of reintegration into society after the end of the war and her search for the purpose of her life now that she is no longer a soldier in order to understand the last words her mentor and guardian, Major Gilbert, had said to her: ‘I love you.’

The show follows Violet Evergarden’s journey on her adventures through different eras and looks at the suffering caused to people and soldiers due to war and death. The show is quite moving and shakes up the tears and you will find yourself on the verge of tears or even crying over and over. Personally, I absolutely loved the anime and would recommend it to anyone looking for something emotional that gets them thinking and thinking about things.

In fact, the anime had such a performance that it resulted in the production of two more films in the franchise, Eternity and the automatic memory doll and Violet Evergarden: the movie. They both continued to do as well as the show. But still, they do not meet the need for a continuation of the show and that remains a problem in its own right.

Violet Evergarden Season 2: Renewal

Violet Evergarden Season 2

If you’re still around, you’re probably a huge fan of the show and wondering if the show will ever return for a second season. And there are a lot of things to consider before you can talk about it. The first is the fact that the show’s first season only covered half of Violet Evergarden’s story and left viewers with many unanswered questions.

Another thing to consider is the fact that the show was very popular when it was released and has continued to have a huge audience and a stellar run that has been enjoyed by audiences and critics alike. It was truly unheard of for an anime like this at the time and audiences quickly grew impatient for Violet Evergarden Season 2.

However, a renewal of the show has yet to be announced by the studio, but the show hasn’t been canceled either.. But considering the show’s popularity and how the first season ended, not to mention the problems the COVID pandemic has caused these performers, this is looking really good in terms of Violet’s renewal. Evergarden Season 2.

Added to this is the fact that the people of Kyoto Studios are supposed to be working on the script for the second season of the show and it’s already in the works. People are also very curious about Major Gilbert’s fate and it has been a huge topic of discussion in the fan community.

Currently, it is assumed that Violet Evergarden Season 2 will be released in early 2022, and will continue with the story after the first season. This is certainly great news for fans who have been waiting for the show for over two years.

Australia’s corporate law regime can be compared to a Russian doll, with one or more top dolls concealing other dolls.

Australian Law Reform Commission chairperson Judge Sarah Derrington said there is a “great body of secret laws” made by ASIC and other regulators and this contributes to legislative complexity. She’s right.

Our corporate law regime is like a Russian doll, with one or more top-level dolls concealing other dolls.

One would think that the logical place to find the law would be to go to the relevant section of the Corporations Act. You would be wrong.

We start with the Act, move on to regulations, then to the schedule of regulations. You then check the ASIC class controls, the linkage hardware in the regulatory guides, and finally, the smallest but in many ways the most powerful headstock, the ASIC modifications.

But the presence of modifications is not bad; it is in fact the symptom of evil.

Consider an example of the financial services provisions of Chapter 7 of the Corporations Act, which is the focus of the ALRC’s current review of laws that regulate financial services in Australia.

Section 1017B deals with certain disclosure obligations. The regulation should be reviewed as it clarifies various relevant details. But the appendix to the regulations changes the law and a class decree changes the schedule!

“Manna from heaven”

In my experience, changes can be like manna from the sky, solving problems caused by verbose provisions in circumstances where the prospects for a legislative solution are either slim or purely spooky due to the need for a bipartisan political support.

So what is the solution?

The principled regulatory framework that Justice Derrington referred to in her address to insolvency lawyers – the one in which she commented on “secret law” – is a good start.

His Honor refers to sound guiding principles, including clarity, consistency, efficiency and accessibility, flexibility to deal with unforeseen or unforeseen issues, and identification of standards of behavior.

But is it enough? Do we need a more radical paradigm shift? Can we be fooled that such a regime can be born easily, like Athena from the head of Zeus? Should we at least consider an alternative model?

In this regard, I am a follower of the scheme of the Life Insurance Act and, to a lesser extent, of the Pensions Industry (Supervision) Act.

The first is a very meager legislative framework that uses subordinate legislation not only as an “emergency glass breaker” tool, but as an integral part of the legislative scheme.

This objective is achieved through the use of prudential standards that the ALRC calls in an earlier document “thematically consolidated legislative instruments”. These standards can be developed quickly and can certainly help address loopholes – for example in the context of pensions where performance standards can fill loopholes in the law with regulations – but prudential standards developed by the APRA represent a much faster and more efficient solution.

Principles

The key factor, however, is that the regime is principled, with only a few basic principles incorporated into law.

What about the problem of the secret law and the Russian doll?

Well, this is avoided because you are deliberately establishing a regime of laws and regulations. They can be supplemented by subordinate legislation in the form of standards developed by the regulator which can be re-enacted as regulations where appropriate.

This is a more structured use of subordinate legislation compared to amendments.

Anyone who uses the Life Insurance Act seems to be able to locate the relevant standards, as this is an established, well-publicized, and integrated feature of this legal regime.

It also solves the problem of discrepancies and to some extent the problems of complexity.

Think of it this way: you would know exactly where the lot is if all the dolls were laid out on the table.
